The Commanding Officer of Headquarters and Support Company is Captain Lee E. Taylor.
Captain Taylor was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1968. He was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and is the youngest of (4) children to parents Lena and Willie Taylor. He joined the Marine Corps on November 4th, 1986 and attended boot camp at Parris Island, SC. Graduated boot camp as a Private First Class, on January 30, 1987. He received the MOS of 3043 and attended Supply School at Camp Johnson, NC. His first duty station was MCAS El Toro, CA, Detachment Bravo, 1st FSSG where he reported in April 1987 as a Private First Class, promoted to Lance Corporal 1 May, 1987, promoted to Corporal 1 May, 1988 and then promoted to Sergeant, (meritoriously) 2 May, 1989. He attend NCO School in Del Mar, CA in May of 1989. While stationed in El Toro, he took some college courses at National University. He was then stationed overseas at Marine Corps Security Forces Company Diego Garcia where he served as the Supply Clerk/Chief.
On December 20th, 1990 he departed Diego Garcia and report for Drill Instructor School on January 2nd, 1991. Upon completing Drill Instructor School, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, India Company for Drill Instructor Duty. He completed 6 platoons and a successful tour as a Drill Instructor and was then assigned as the Supply Chief at Support Battalion S-4 at Parris Island, SC. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant on 1 August, 1994.
He received orders to Marine Corps Logistics Base, Barstow, California where he served as the SNCO’s BEQ Manager, a Instructor at the Managed On the Job Training School for 3051’s, and then as a Warehouse Chief at Fleet Support Center Branch. He attended the SNCO Career Course in 1996 at El Toro, CA. While stationed at Barstow he transferred all his college credits and military experience over to Park College and started attending classes again.
He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in November of 1998 and reported to Recruiting Station Salt Lake City in May of 1999 for duty as the Logistics/Supply Chief. In February of 2000, he attended the SNCO Advance Course in Los Flores, CA. While at Salt Lake City, he completed his Associates in Arts degree in Management and was accepted for the Meritorious Commissioning Program in December of 2001.
He then attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Quantico, VA on the 19th of January, 2002, at the same time he was in zone for promotion to First Sergeant. He graduated OCS, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on March 29, 2002. He then attended The Basic School, in Quantico Virginia in June of 2002. He graduated TBS on December 13th of 2002 and reported back to Camp Johnson for Ground Supply Officers Course.
Upon completion of Ground Supply Officers Course on April 17th of 2003, he transferred to 3d Materiel Readiness Battalion, 3d Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan for duty as the Maintenance Management Officer (MMO).
He checked in to 3d Materiel Readiness Battalion on May 17th of 2003, and served as the Battalion MMO until July 14th, 2003 when he was assigned to exercise Crocodile/Freedom Banner as the Supply Officer. He returned from the exercise back to 3d MRB and was then assigned as the Logistics Officer/MMO/Embarkation Officer/ Arms, Ammunition & Explosives Officer. He was promoted to First Lieutenant on March 29th, 2004.
He then deployed to Korea in support of Ulchi Focus Lens (UFL 04), and returned early to deploy on exercise Korean Incremental Training Program (KITP 04) on August 30th, 2004 as the Supply Officer. Upon returning from KITP back to 3d MRB, he resumed his duties as the Logistics Officer.
On 18 February, 2005, he was assigned as the Camp Services Officer/Antiterrorism Force Protection Officer for Camp Kinser. After completing an IPCOT to remain on Island for another three years, First Lieutenant Taylor received orders to 3rd Marine Division where he served as the Supply Officer for Combat Assault Battalion. He checked into 3rd Marine Division on May 12th, 2006 for duty. He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 September 2006, and deployed to Iraq as an Individual Augment with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines as the Logistics Advisor for the 1/3 MITT team, from Jan 13, 2007 through August 2nd, 2007. He returned to CAB and resumed his duties as the Supply Officer until April 6th, 2009 when he was transferred to Marine Tactical Air Control Squadron 18 on MCAS Futenma.
He served as the Supply Officer and S-4 Officer of MTACS-18 until he received orders to Parris Island, SC as the Logistics Officer of Weapons and Field Training Battalion on August 2, 2010. He became the Company Commander of Headquarters and Support Company on 17 September, 2010.
Captain Taylor was selected to Major on the FY12 board and is pending promotion sometime in 2012.
Captain Taylor’s personal decorations include (1) Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, (2) Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, (5) Marine Corps Good Conduct Medals, (2) Certificates of Commendation, a Meritorious Mast, (6) Letters of Appreciation, and a Certificate of Appreciation.
He holds and Associates and Bachelors Degree in Management.
