The First Sergeant of the Range Company is First Sergeant Travis L. Faison.
After completion of recruit training, he reported to Marine Corps Cannoneer School (MCCS), Fort Sill Oklahoma, to begin training as cannon crewman. In November of 1994, Private First Class Faison was transferred to 1st Battalion 10th Marines, Camp Lejeune, N.C., where he was assigned to Bravo Battery. While assign to Bravo Battery he deployed with 22 MEU, BLT 2/2.
In July 1998, Sergeant Faison received orders to Artillery Demonstration Unit, Instructor Battalion, The Basic School, MCB Quantico, Virginia. While there he served as Cannon Crew Section Chief and Salute Noncommissioned Officer in Charge.
In October 2000, Sergeant Faison reported to recruiter school at MCRD San Diego, California. After completion of recruiter school he reported to Recruiting Station Richmond Virginia, Recruiting Substation Richmond Main. During this time he served as a canvassing recruiter, SNCOIC, and Programs Specialist.
In January of 2004, Staff Sergeant Faison reported to Headquarters Battery, 3rd Battalion 12th Marines, Camp Hansen Okinawa Japan. Staff Sergeant Faison held a variety of billets during this time to include Training SNCOIC, Local Security Chief, and Battery Gunnery Sergeant.
In December 2004, Staff Sergeant Faison reported to Combat Assault Battalion, Camp Schwab Okinawa, Japan, for duty as Career Retention Specialist. During this time he deployed to Korea for Korean Incremental Training Program Exercise (KITP 2-06).
In November 2007, Gunnery Sergeant Faison reported to 1st Marine Logistics Group (MLG), Combat Logistics Regiment 17, Camp Pendleton, California where he assumed duties as the Assistant SNCOIC for 1st MLG Career Retention. During his time with 1st MLG, Gunnery Sergeant Faison deployed to Al Taqaddum, Iraq, in support of OIF 7-9 as the SNCOIC for 1st MLG Career Retention.
In March 2009, Gunnery Sergeant Faison reported to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS), MCAS Beaufort, S.C., where he assumed duties as the Career Planner for H&HS.
First Sergeant Faison reported to Weapons and Field Training Battalion, Parris Island, S.C., for duty in February 2010.
First Sergeant Faison’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 1 gold star and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with 2 gold stars.
