The commander of the Recruit Training Regiment is
Colonel Andrew L. Solgere.
Andy Solgere enlisted in the US Navy Reserve in 1980 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant of Marines in 1985.
He has commanded a rifle platoon, a weapons platoon, a rifle company, and an infantry battalion in deployments to the European, Southern, Pacific, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
He has served in the G-3 at 2nd Marine Division; at Headquarters, US Marine Corps; and on the Joint Staff. He has also served at a Recruiting Station; a Recruiting District; a Recruiting Region; and in a Recruit Training Battalion.
Colonel Solgere graduated from the US Naval Academy, the US Army Infantry Officer Advanced Course, the US Marine Corps Command and Staff College, the Armed Forces Staff College, and the US Naval War College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Military Studies degree, and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. |
