
Headquarters and Service Battalion is led by Colonel Brian T. Palmer and Sergeant Major Dwayne W. Farr.
Headquarters and Service Battalion provides continuous administrative and logistical support to the Recruit Training Regiment, Eastern Recruiting Region (ERR), and Weapons and Field Training Battalion, in order to accomplish the Depot’s mission of "Making Marines."
The Battalion is comprised of two companies; Headquarters Company and Service Company. The companies, and their respective sections, provide critical support to recruit training ranging from clothing supply and gear issue, making liaison with the community and the families of newly graduated Marines, as well as providing support to the entire ERR. In addition to providing these crucial services and support to the recruits, their families, and Recruiter Stations within the ERR, the Battalion also maintains the high standards of personnel readiness that are required of all Marines.
Headquarters Company
Headquarters Company is led by Captain Sean Keenan and 1stSgt Jonathan Fuller. The mission of Headquarters Company is to provide operational (G-3) and administrative (G-1, IPAC) support to the ERR and Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island in their missions of recruiting, transforming, and making new Marines. Headquarters also includes the Inspector, Religious Ministries, Public Affairs, Combat Camera, Protocol, Contracting, Force Preservation, the Band, and the Blue in Support of Green (BISOG) Dental Detachment.
Service Company
Service Company is led by Captain Jeffrey P. Sparrow and 1stSgt Randy Walden. The mission of Service Company is to provide the logistical (G-4, Supply and Services, Facilities Maintenance, Armory, and Motor T), financial (Comptroller), legal (SJA), and communication (G-6) needs in support of Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island and the ERR as dictated by the Commanding General.
