First Sergeant Johnathan C. Fuller was born  in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on July 14, 1988 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina. Upon graduation, Private First Class Fuller reported to Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia where he received the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 3051, Supply Warehouseman. He was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal.

In November 1988, Lance Corporal Fuller reported to 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his tour with 2nd Marines, Lance Corporal Fuller served in billets as Warehouseman, Personal Effects Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) and Warehouse Chief. He completed a Unit Deployment to Okinawa, Japan, Combined Arms Exercise, 29 Palms, California, Cold Weather Training at Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, California, and also participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and received a Combat Action Ribbon.

In December 1991, Corporal Fuller reported to 2nd Supply Battalion, 2nd Force Service Support Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty as Warehouseman and Personal Effects NCO. During this tour he was hand selected to become an instructor for his MOS at Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools (MCCSSS), Camp Johnson, North Carolina. After completing his tour as an instructor, he reported back to 2nd Supply Battalion.

He was promoted to Sergeant and received orders to report to 3rd Supply Battalion, Okinawa Japan. He served as NCOIC of Medium Storage and NCOIC of Quality Control.

Sergeant Fuller received orders and reported to Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3, Supply Support Element, 2nd Force Service Support Group as the Supply Support Liaison. During this tour, Sergeant Fuller was handpicked to help establish phase two of the Commandant’s Warfighting Lab’s Sea Dragon Experiment as the Supply/Fiscal Chief. While serving with the CMC’s Warfighting Lab, Sergeant Fuller deployed to Plymouth, England to participate in a joint training exercise with the British Royal Marines. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant during this tour.

In January 1999, Staff Sergeant Fuller received orders to Recruiting School, San Diego, California. Upon completion of Recruiting School, he was assigned to 6th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Raleigh, North Carolina. He was subsequently assigned to Recruiting Sub Stations Durham and Greensboro, North Carolina as a Canvassing Recruiter, Assistant NCOIC and NCOIC.

In June 2002, Staff Sergeant Fuller executed orders to Okinawa, Japan for duty with 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. He was assigned to Marine Air Control Group-18, Marine Tactical Air Control Squadron-18 as the Warehouse Chief, Substance Abuse Counseling Officer, and Equal Opportunity Representative. He was later reassigned to Marine Wing Communication Squadron-18 as the Warehouse Chief, Equal Opportunity Representative, and Squadron First Sergeant. During this period he deployed to Thailand in support of Operation Cobra Gold as the Logistics Chief for MACG-18 and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.

In July 2005, Gunnery Sergeant Fuller reported to MCCSSS, Camp Johnson, North Carolina for duty as an instructor at Supply School. In June 2007, he volunteered and received orders to 2nd Supply Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was promoted to his current rank and received orders to 5th Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment as the First Sergeant for Battery R. During this period, First Sergeant Fuller participated in several Exercise Mojave Vipers in 29 Palms, California, Exercise Rolling Thunder in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

First Sergeant Fuller reported to Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island South Carolina and was assigned to his current billet of Headquarters Company First Sergeant.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal (with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award), the Combat Action Ribbon, and the Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon.
