Members of the armed forces, reservists, family members, retirees and military dependant survivors can save over $200 on average in tax preparation fees by using services of the well trained Marines of the Depot Tax Center (DTC).

Our Tax Center personnel are trained by H&R Block and are certified by the IRS through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Last year, the Marines of the Depot Tax Center found over $650,000.00 in tax refunds for their clients and saved them over $56,000.00 in preparation fees!

Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins will be accepted on an “as available” basis.

2. At a minimum: W-2’s, military ID and social security card. Social Security Card is necessary to file an e-return; if not furnished, we will prepare a paper return
3. W-2’s are available on-line at MyPay.
4. Banking information (routing and account numbers) for Direct Deposit

4. During your visit, we will prepare your tax return and you will verify the information.
5. We will then review your return one final time before electronically filing it for you.
6. Where a refund is due and the return is filed electronically, you can expect your refund in approximately five business days.
