| Off Base Referral Information |
Please check-in with the Housing Referral Office prior to making any housing commitments in the community. You may receive resourceful information to help make your transition more smoothly. If you are seeking on and off base rentals please take advantage of the Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN). It is a simple, easy and effective rental listing website that allows you access 24 hour a day. We strongly encourage Military Members to register in AHRN at www.ahrn.com.
Landlords and property managers no longer need to list their properties with our local Military Housing Office; landlords and property managers may also advantage of AHRN’s website and list their rental properties for Military Members that are seeking our local rentals.
Most landlords do not release you from your lease to move into privatized housing on base. The minimal leasing period for community rental property is six months. Most landlords require one year. Make sure there is a Military Clause written in your lease, which would release you from the lease if you receive orders or have to deploy for a long period. There are very few landlords that will accept pets and usually there are restrictions on breed or size. Pet deposit or pet fees may range from $100-$500 and most of the deposits are non-refundable. |

| Rental Insurance |
| Renter’s insurance is advised for all personnel who rent in the local community or if you are a Resident with Tri-Command Communities. Most landlords and property owners cover only structural damages and not personal belongings owned by the tenant. |
