MOTTO FOR FAMILY HOUSING AND BACHELOR MCRD PARRIS ISLAND
The occupants of our family and bachelor housing and the military families or individual service members seeking assistance in locating permanent and temporary housing are the most important persons who enter our doors; they are not an interruption of our work, but the purpose of it. These families and service members are not addresses and statistics; they are flesh-and-blood human beings with feelings and emotions just like ours. They bring us their needs, their wants, their desires, and their problems, real or imagined. Our job is to respond to their requirements as expeditiously and efficiently as possible. These people include husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers, who have the same concerns held by all of us: The health, safety, welfare, and comfort of our families~ Our job is to put their minds at ease, so that at all times, but especially when families are separated by deployment, service members can perform their jobs with maximum effectiveness, knowing that the families left behind will be given every possible assistance when a need arises. Our job is to adequately house our military service members and our military families.

THEY ARE WHY WE ARE EMPLOYED.SERVICE IS OUR BUSINESS!

Parris Island Housing staff welcomes you to Beaufort and hopes this will be an exciting tour for you and your family.

Our partnership with Atlantic Marine Corps Communities (AMCC) At Tri-Command provides housing for Active Duty Members and their families, Active Duty Bachelors (roommates and Geo Bachelors), DOD Civilians, and Military Retirees assigned to MCRD Parris Island, Beaufort Naval Hospital, Laurel Bay and MCAS Beaufort.

Active Duty Families Applying for Housing:
When applying for housing you can fax or email a copy of the housing package on the right. In addition send your detaching or web orders and your dependency application (from your SRB).

If you were previously married and have been awarded custody of your child (children) over six months out of a year, you must also supply custody papers in addition to your application.

All other categories such as active duty Bachelors, DOD Civilians, and Military Retirees must call for current application information.

Pets:
When filling out the forms in the housing package, sign pet form and check appropriate box. Please read Pet Policy for a list of restricted breeds.

If you do have pets, you will need to fax or email updated rabies vaccine and microchip information. The information will be verified by the Veterinarian Office staff on base.

After moving into housing on base you must purchase a tag for your pet that includes their name and address.

When your application has been received and housing is immediately available, your information will be referred to Atlantic Marine Corps Communities (AMCC) At Tri-Command and they will contact you to establish a move-in date. Waiting times vary depending on the time of year. Short-term rentals while awaiting on-base housing are not readily available. Leases in the local area are typically for a period of six months to one year.

If housing is unavailable, your name will be placed on a wait list utilizing your date of application as your control date. When housing is available, you will be contacted by a representative from Atlantic Marine Corps Communities (AMCC) At Tri-Command.

If you accept housing before you check into your command, a Privatized Housing Deduction will begin upon your move-in date. The rate for rent will be equal to your duty station from which you detached. Once you check-in to your command and start receiving the Beaufort BAH rate, your rent will be equal to your Beaufort BAH.

Resident Energy Conservation Program (RECP) Utilities.
The Office of the Secretary of Defense established a policy to promote energy efficiency in Public-Private Venture (PPV) housing, and for PPV residents to take responsibility for utility usage. The Department of Navy is implementing the Resident Energy Conservation Program (RECP) as a pilot program at the Tri-Commands in Beaufort County, South Carolina and in Hawaii. This program transfers responsibility for electricity consumption from the PPV partner to the PPV resident. The program is designed to set a reasonable range for normal electricity consumption in PPV housing units.

As pilot location residents, you are vital in further shaping this groundbreaking initiative prior to its roll-out Marine Corps wide. This is a step in the right direction for all of us to join together in a collaborative effort to conserve our resources.
