Staff Sergeant Kathryn S. Woltanski
Instrument Repair Technician
Parris Island Marine Band


Staff Sergeant Kathryn S. Woltanski, from Elmwood, Wisconin, completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina, in January 2004. After completing Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina, she attended the Basic Musician's Course at the Armed Forces School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia. Upon graduation in August 2004, she was assigned as a flutist with the Parris Island Marine Band.


Staff Sergeant Woltanski then transferred to the Twentynine Palms Marine Band in Twentynine Palms, California, where she served as a flutist, section leader, and platoon sergeant. She also served as an instructor for the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy (SNCOA) Corporals Course at Twentynine Palms.


In May 2010, Staff Sergeant Woltanski was selected to become an instrument repair technician and was assigned to attend Minnesota State College South East Technical College, for the Band Instrument Repair Program in Red Wing, Minnesota. Upon graduation, she was stationed at Parris Island in May 2011 for duty as her current assignment as the Parris Island Marine Band’s instrument repair technician.
Staff Sergeant Woltanski is a graduate of the SNCOA Sergeants Course at Twentynine Palms and SNCOA Career Course at Camp Pendleton, California.
